Yoga for Kiteboarding & for You

Hi,
Here is a yoga posture to release your back, expand your lungs, strengthen your spine, and stretch your back, thighs, chest.

For kiteboarders, it is an excellent practice before and after your ride:

Urdhva Mukha Svanasana one: This pose is specially recommended for people suffering from a stiff back.
This pose strengthens your spine, and your lungs gain elasticity.

How to get into the pose:
- lie on the floor on your stomach
- keep your feet hip width apart, your toes point straight back. Place your hands on the side of your chest or waist (depending how flexible you are), with your fingers pointing forward.
- as you inhale, raise the head and trunk, stretch the arms.
- your spine, thighs and calves will receive an excellent stretch. Open your chest, and take 5 to 10 breaths. You breathe deeply, through the nose.
Then, bend your elbows, and : rest on the floor - enter in a childpose - or in a adho mukha svanasana (downward facing dog)

Kiteboarding at FullMoon Light

It has been a fabulous experience to kiteboard at the beach, in Miami, at the light of the Full Moon.
The Full Moon reflection on the waves and waters, the wind surprising at each gust, as invisible surprise awakening fabulous sensations.

Yoga prior and after kiteboarding gave us the opportunity to experience it to the fullest, with all our senses awakened.

Yoga for Kiteboarding Outerbanks

Yoga is the perfect practice to prepare your body, mind and spirit for kiteboard-, surfing. Kitesurfers will receive amaizing benefits when they practice yoga regularly. Some of the main benefits are: strengthening the main muscles used when riding, warming up and developping more flexibility.
When the winds are very gusty, waves are rough, our body is receiving strong impulses on our joints, and muscles. When we have more flexibility the possibility to have a sprain or strain will be much lower than if our body is tight.
Christelle did research in the yoga asanas, and kitesurfing stances in order to prepare a class that is specifically designed for Kitesurfing.
Also recommended for windsurfers.

Yoga & Spiritual Coaching

Namaste,

In the practice, yoga class in Miami, you experience the yoga postures (asanas) as profoundly strengthening and liberating; guiding you toward a state of alertness and relaxation: sattvik.
Yoga practice, classes, seminars, is becoming more and more popular in our community.
Yoga brings benefits in your physical health, providing more flexibility, strength, balance and releasing toxins. The practice of yoga supports you to clarify your mind through the breath, and to focus your attention in the present.
As spiritual counselor/coach with the Dharmi Practice, I approach the practitioners in a holistic way. You unveil potentials and free your emotional and intelligence memory, to connect with your innerstrength, innervoice in a healthy space.
With a regular practice of Yoga, you reprogram your cell memories, intelligence memory, and empower yourselves through the classes, with specific pranayamas (breathing techniques), asanas (yoga postures), mudras (yoga of the hands), mantras (chanting) or meditation.
Mudras are the Yoga in your Hands. Mudras have a wondrous effect on the "emotional area" of our lives, which includes the soul, our feelings, and our moods. It is no coincidence that people make fists when they are vehemently agitated, or that hands become limp and their movements flighty during depressions.
Also, Mudras affects "physical symptoms", eastern sages and doctors say that the body, mind and soul are inherent to every fingertip, every finger joint in each individual finger, and naturally also in the entire hand itself.
Through the fingers, hands, mudras, you release emotions, clarify your mind, balance our energy.
I have been experiencing yoga since an early age without understanding what is this "connection" that I am feeling.  This connection has been guiding me, and continue to be so through Life with wonders and grace. It is not until I was 18yo and began to participate to seminars that I understood more clearly what wash this inner guidance that I trusted so much.

Yoga means union, connection, which can be interpreted in infinite ways.
Here are some aspects of Yoga I like to share with you today:
-          The importance of the breath
-          Listening to your inner senses (pratyahara)
-          Alignment
Pranayama are breathing techniques that support the balance of your nervous system. Stress is creating a pressure on your nervous system, which affects directly your breath. As soon as you have an experience that creates a conflict with your biorhythm, your breath and nervous system are responding with an emotional reaction, and a physical imbalance.
With the practice of pranayama, you release the trauma and free the nervous system to allow the alignment with our biorhythm.
When you listen to your inner senses, you recognize when situations, signals in your life are nurturing, empowering your Dharma. Also you can identify clearly when it does create a stress or distraction, leak of energy. Many people have been trained to respond to external situations without consulting their inner senses and wisdom.
Through pratyahara, the awakening of your inner senses, you connect with your truth at the present moment.
The practice of the alignment in the asanas (yoga posture) with the breath, and the intention is key in yoga. This alignment opens the connection between your thoughts, your feelings and your actions. When the flow in the meridians (nadis) is open, then you experience a sense of joy, peace and contentment.
In infinite connection, honoring this special space to share with you life's wonders.
Christelle
